Udayamperoor Synodal Church

Udayamperoor Panchayat is a charming village situated 5 km from Mulanthuruthy, on the Ernakulam- Vaikom road. This beautiful place, steeped in history, is a major tourist destination in the district. An ancient Roman Catholic Church situated here had witnessed one of the famous religious exercises - the Synod of Diamper that had helped unite the Malabar Syrian Christians with the Roman Catholic Church. The church also houses the mortal remains of the last Raja of Villarvattom, who was a Christian convert.
