This kurishupally is in the name of St. Geevarghese mar Gregoriose also known as Parumala Thirumeni. He was born in the Chathuruthi family of Mulanthuruthi. Chathuruthi Tharavad is situated very near the vallakkurishu. Thirumeni started his formal education under the eminent ezhava Guru 'Onakkavil Ayya' whose kudipallikkoodam was situated near about the place where the vallakkurish is built.Thirumeni's love and respect for the Guru is well known.
